Fantasy Basketball Player of the Day: 11/5

Every day that there are games, FSC is going to pick the player that was the most wowing in fantasy world. But before I tell you last night's MVP let's look at the runners-up:

3rd Place: Jason Richardson, Suns
If he hadn't needed 2 overtimes to get these stats, JRich could have contended for a higher award. Either way, the line the Suns guard put up was out of this world. Get it? Suns? Yeah... humors not my strong suit. But that's beside the point. Richardson went off for 38 points, thanks in part to 6 threes, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Overall, it was definitely a fantasy night to write home about for the former slam dunk champion.

2nd Place: Chris Paul, Hornets
If you read the awards ceremony from 11/3, this beginning should look awfully similar. CP3 finds himself as the bridesmaid yet again. The FBPotD trophy is so narrowly escaping the reach of the best point guard in the game. Paul's efficiency was slacking a bit, with a mediocre FG% and 3 turnovers. But who can argue with 5 steals and 19 assists? 19! That's more than most point guards get in 3 games (I'm looking at you Jarrett Jack). Anytime you can say that last sentence, before the Jack sutff, the player had a good night.

1st Place: Josh Smith, Hawks
What a complete night out of the uber-athlete from Atlanta! Sure Smith didn't make a 3 (which is actually a good sign given his past obsessions with the jump shot), but he did just about everything else. 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks and 2 steals make for happy JSmoove owners across the land. Oh, and did I mention the zero turnovers and 9 of 13 shooting? Smith has reasserted himself as a dominant fantasy force, and it was only a matter of time before he brought home FSC's Player of the Day trophy.
